Having stayed here numerous times in the past, we recently had the pleasure of an extended stay in this wonderful holiday home. Rowan at Grasmere is a simply stunning, luxurious property in the centre of Grasmere village, but in a very private setting.
The house itself is furnished to the highest of standards, including a modern kitchen with everything you need, three luxurious bathrooms with powerful walk in showers, fluffy towels and bathrobes. The living room is the perfect place to relax and has a large wood burner, for those chillier evenings, as well as a Smart tv, with Netflix included. We found the large entrance hall to be incredibly useful, with lots of space for coats, boots and other outdoor wear.
We can say, without hesitation, that the level of cleanliness throughout Rowan is second to none. The house was spotless on arrival and remained that way throughout our stay, thanks to weekly housekeeping visits.
The house sits in the most beautiful setting, with a very well maintained garden full of interest and colour, as well as a large patio area with outdoor furniture, from where you can sit and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding fells.
Although Rowan feels extremely private and secluded, it is only a 2 minute walk into the centre of the village, with lots of lovely little shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. There are lots of wonderful walks from the door and an excellent bus service to take you further afield, should you wish to explore.
The owners, Phil & Karen, were so helpful to us throughout our stay and we feel incredibly lucky to have spent so much time in this beautiful home. We would highly recommend Rowan at Grasmere to anyone looking for a luxurious holiday cottage in this beautiful part of the world.
